Description
Organic acids are by-products of the body’s metabolic pathways. Measuring these markers can help clarify patterns that are difficult to see from symptoms alone, including gut microbial overgrowth, mitochondrial function, nutrient status, neurotransmitter-related metabolism, oxalate load, fatty acid metabolism, amino acid patterns, and detoxification capacity.
The Organic Acids Test (OAT) measures 76 organic acids from one easy-to-collect urine sample. It is most useful when testing will genuinely change the clinical plan rather than simply add more information.
